FHKI Group 26 (Environmental Industries Council) and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) co-organised an Overseas Training to Germany on Advanced and Green Technology in Environmental Industry, which was successfully held from 11 May to 19 May 2024. The delegation attracted 18 participants who came together to explore innovative technologies in Germany.

Led by Mr Jude Chow, Deputy Chairman of FHKI and Chairman of Group 26 (Environmental Industries Council), the delegation visited an exhibition, multiple local recycling facilities, and environmental protection companies. These included the  the global leading trade exhibition "IFAT Munich 2024", TÜV Rheinland headquarters, Hydrogen Competence Center in Herten, and BMW Museum, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of technologies related to green energy and renewable energy development and research. The delegates also visited one of Germany's largest chemical sites, Marl Chemical Industry Park; Interzero's large-scale plastic recycling facility; and paper products manufacturer Buhl Paperform GmbH to learn about the production of eco-friendly packaging materials from recycled paper and plastic.

Through the delegation, the delegates gained an understanding of innovative technologies and recycling systems in Germany, exploring potential cooperation opportunities with overseas suppliers. All visited factories were overseas subsidiaries of member companies, which enhanced information exchange within the industry.
