The Medical Engineering & Innovation Council (MEIC) of Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) held its 2026 Annual Dinner on 3 March 2026 successfully. Concurrent with the dinner, MEIC executed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore’s AiQuanMed Engineering & Innovation Council (AEIC) and Japan’s Organization for Medical, Engineering and Commerce Collaboration.NPO (OMECC). Through this trilateral arrangement, the parties will establish an industry engagement platform across the three jurisdictions, facilitate regular exchanges, and create a robust foundation for future medical‑technology and innovation application research projects aligned with industry requirements.
The dinner drew close to 80 attendees, comprising industry leaders, peers and business associates from multiple regions, including delegations from Germany, Japan and Singapore. The gathering provided opportunities to advance cross‑disciplinary and international collaboration.
Welcome remarks were delivered by Dr Steve Chuang, Chairman of the Hong Kong New Industries Development Alliance (HKNIDA), Honorary President of the FHKI and Co‑Chairman of MEIC, and Dr Simon Cua, Co‑Chairman of MEIC. They expressed that MEIC, established in January 2025, is dedicated to promoting the sustained development, innovation and commercial adoption of medical technologies within the industry. Mr Anthony Lam, Chairman of FHKI, also conveyed his congratulations.
MEIC will continue to serve as a strategic conduit among industry stakeholders and partners, connecting government, the private sector, academia and research institutions. MEIC will maintain an active platform to facilitate exchanges and collaboration among industry professionals and international medical experts on frontier innovation, investment opportunities and global insights.
