FHKI Group 33 (Biotechnology and Healthcare Council) successfully held a Consultation Meeting on 27 June 2024. The meeting aimed to discuss policy advocacy related to biotechnology and healthcare industries in Hong Kong, as well as the establishment of the Hong Kong Centre for Medical Products Regulation ("CMPR"). Industry professionals and partners expressed their support and anticipation for the establishment of the CMPR, actively voicing their opinions and hoping to seize opportunities to propel Hong Kong biotechnology and healthcare industries to a new milestone.

The Department of Health officially announced the establishment of the CMPR Preparatory Office on 5 June. The purpose of this Consultation Meeting is to listen to the voices of the industry and formulate specific policy advocacy for the upcoming Policy Address. The Council will serve as a representative of the industry, continuously engaging with the Government through dialogue and cooperation. Together, they will work towards the advancement of biotechnology and healthcare policies and the establishment of Hong Kong as a global hub for medical innovation.
