The International Affairs Committee and Industry Groups of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries met with the Taiwan Federation of Commerce on 1 August 2023 to explore opportunities for food industry exchange between Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Mr Anthony Lam, Executive Deputy Chairman of FHKI and Chairman of Group 8 (Food, Beverage and Tobacco), officiated the event. He welcomed participants from Group 1 (Hong Kong Chemical & Biotechnology Council), Group 6 (Energy and power), Group 8 (Food, Beverage, and Tobacco), Group 15 (Hong Kong Plastics Industry Council) , Group 20 (Hong Kong Trade Services Council), and Group 32 (Hong Kong Automation Technology Council). Mr Lam also expressed gratitude to the 21 Taiwanese enterprise representatives in attendance.

The sharing session aimed to promote industrial collaboration between Hong Kong and Taiwanese businesses. Such exchange can generate mutual benefits and drive the development of cooperation between our two economies.

Participants seized the opportunity to network with counterparts and introduce their companies and products. Both sides showed strong interest in future partnerships after enthusiastic discussions on market trends and opportunities.

FHKI believes synergies between Hong Kong and Taiwanese businesses can create more prospects for cooperation and inject fresh vitality into our industrial partnerships. The sharing session marked a constructive step towards strengthening industry linkages and exchange between our two places.

FHKI will continue to organise similar events and facilitate connections that allow Hong Kong and Taiwanese companies to leverage each other's strengths for mutual growth.
