FHKI Group 26 (Environmental Industries Council) organised a visit to EcoPark in Tuen Mun on 3 July 2023. EcoPark, Hong Kong's first recycling-business park, is a facility of the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) specially constructed for the recycling industry. During the visit, members had the opportunity to tour the factories of Champway Technology Limited & On Fat Lung Innovation Resources Limited, both of which are tenants of EcoPark and members of Group 26 members. The visit offered valuable insights into the operations of local recycling facilities, such as how rubber tyres and waste oil can be transformed into rubberised paving blocks and biodiesel.

In addition, the EPD introduced the operation of the EcoPark to the visitors, showcasing their innovative technology projects. One such project is the “Bioconversion of Organic Waste from Chicken Farms by Detritivores”, while another is the “Pilot Biochar Production Plant”. These projects aim to achieve carbon neutrality and contribute to sustainable environmental practices. The event was a great success, promoting communication among members and providing them with a deeper understanding of the local development in the environmental protection and recycling industry.
