In May 2021, after consulting members on the “Producer Responsibility Scheme on Plastic Beverage Containers”, the FHKI has put forward a submission to the government, which covers the following areas:

1. 1. defining the scope of coverage,
   2. enhancing recycling rates,
   3. sharing responsibility for environmental conservation,
   4. establishing a review mechanism,
   5. developing criteria for exemption from levy,
   6. improving the handling of waste plastics, and
   7. encouraging local green procurement.
