FHKI Presented the 2025 Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong,
Industrialist of the Year, and the Hong Kong Innopreneur Awards
The grand award presentation ceremony for the 2025 “Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong” (YIAH), the “Industrialist of the Year” (IOY), and the Hong Kong Innopreneur Award, organised by Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), was successfully held today (13 November). The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong, who presented the prestigious IOY. This year, the coveted title was bestowed upon Dr Ng Chi Ho, Founder and Chairman of the Suga International Holdings Ltd. Nine other outstanding young industrialists received the 2025 YIAH, with winners hailing industries such as electronics, automotive parts manufacturing, construction, metals, mold-making, garment manufacturing, and health foods. The “Hong Kong Innopreneur Awards” 2025 were also presented at the ceremony. The “Best Innopreneur Award” was conferred upon Prof Siew Ng and Prof Francis Chan, Co-Founders of MicroSigX Biotech Diagnostic Limited. This award recognises their outstanding achievements in their exceptional leadership and groundbreaking work in innovation and technology (I&T), which has not only driven business breakthroughs but also contributed significantly to Hong Kong’s economic development and industrial innovation. A further five entrepreneurs were honoured with awards in the “Hong Kong Innopreneur Award”. For the complete list of award winners and their biographies, please refer to the appendices.
Speaking at the award presentation ceremony, the Deputy Financial Secretary, Mr Michael Wong, said that the government will continue to strongly support the development of the sector. While consolidating the city’s traditional strengths, it will actively nurture emerging industries such as advanced manufacturing, life and health technology, new energy, AI and data science. The aim is to foster high value-added manufacturing through innovation and technology and promote new industrialization. He said that the support of the industry is crucial in the process of upgrading and transformation, and expressed gratitude to the Federation of Hong Kong Industries for its pivotal role in driving forward new industrialisation in Hong Kong.
Anthony Lam, Chairman of FHKI, extended his warmest congratulations to all recipients. "Industrialists form the very cornerstone of Hong Kong's progress," he remarked. "The laureates today represent industrialists from diverse eras. Each has actively embodied a spirit of innovation, advancement, and resilience, steering their sectors through transformation and growth, and in doing so, creating a more prosperous future for Hong Kong. My hope is that this recognition will galvanise a new generation of entrepreneurs to embrace opportunities, to advance with determination, and to serve the community."
Expressing his hope that industrialists would continue to forge ahead, Jude Chow, Executive Deputy Chairman of FHKI, said, “Each laureate not only demonstrates their individual capabilities, but also actively injects new momentum and innovative thinking into Hong Kong's industrial and economic development, contributing to both the industry and society. I am confident that your innovation and perseverance will propel Hong Kong to new heights. I wish you all continued success as you build on these achievements!"
In his acceptance speech, Dr Ng Chi-ho, the 2025 Industrialist of the Year, said, “I am deeply grateful to FHKI for honouring me with the ‘Industrialist of the Year’ award. This is not only a personal honour but, more importantly, a recognition of the dedicated efforts of all my colleagues over the past three decades. I have full confidence in Hong Kong's industrial sector. I believe that by working together, seizing the immense opportunities in the GBA, and leveraging Hong Kong's unique advantages in R&D, finance, and international connectivity, our industry can scale new heights and make even greater contributions to our country and to Hong Kong.”
Prof Siew Ng and Prof Francis Chan, winner of the “Best Innopreneur Award,” said, “We are deeply grateful to FHKI for presenting us the Hong Kong Innopreneur Awards - Best Innopreneur Award. As clinician-scientists, we are dedicated to translating research breakthroughs into clinical applications and market-ready solutions, bringing health and hope to future generations. In recent years, Hong Kong has made significant strides in developing its medical technology sector. We remain committed to unravelling the mysteries of the gut microbiome, transforming research outcomes into tangible benefits, and contributing to Hong Kong’s vision of becoming an international innovation and technology hub.”

About the “Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong” (YIAH) and the “Industrialist of the Year” (IOY)
Established in 1988 by FHKI, the “Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong” aim to honour young entrepreneurs aged 21 to 45 who have shown remarkable success in their sectors. Introduced in 2002, the “Industrialist of the Year Award” recognises industrialists of any age who have significantly contributed to the local industry, economy, and community. The selection process for all awards is rigorously managed by an esteemed panel of judges.
About the “Hong Kong Innopreneur Awards”
In response to the development of innovation and technology in Hong Kong, FHKI initiated the “Hong Kong Innopreneur Awards” in 2022. The nominations were adjudicated by renowned political and business leaders, well-known industrialists and I&T leaders, to recognise and support the outstanding I&T entrepreneurs who have achieved exceptional innovations, forward-looking vision and considerable development potential, and to commend them for bringing positive impact to social development.

Dr Ng Chi-ho Founder and Chairman, Suga International Holdings Ltd |
Dr Ng Chi-ho, Founder and Chairman of Suga International Holdings, is an industrialist dedicated to putting theory into practice and giving back to society. He established Suga in the 1990s with an unwavering commitment to product quality, leading Suga to partner with numerous well-known Japanese companies and deliver its products to over 200 countries and regions worldwide. Under Dr Ng’s leadership, Suga grew from a 7-employee workshop to a diversified business group reaching 3,000 staff and was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2002. Suga International Holdings continued to expand and owns more than 30 production lines until now, including pet electronics, professional audio, telecommunications, etc, successfully transformed from an industrial enterprise to other sectors.
Upholding his belief in “taken from the society, giving back to society”, Dr Ng serves the community by holding different leadership positions in the industry, Trustee, and Academy Advisor at universities. He also supports start-ups through capital funds, ensuring the succession of the industry.

Danny Chan Wai-chun Chief Executive Officer, Top Link Industrial Co Ltd |
Top Link Industrial Company Ltd is a leading power tool manufacturer. Its CEO, Danny Chan, leads Top Link to build a robust industrial ecosystem through deepening supply chain collaboration and enhancing overall competitiveness. He established a production base in Thailand in 2018, pioneering geographical diversification that effectively mitigated geopolitical risks. Danny successfully spearheaded product diversification in Top Link to increase its product range, and introduced the use of computer simulation technology, automated assembly, and AI testing equipment, etc, to significantly improve the Group's ability in R&D and manufacturing, optimising market layout and enhance the Group's resilience.

Michael Chan Hoi-sang Chief Executive Officer, Vigor Precision Ltd |
Michael Chan, CEO of Vigor Precision Ltd, graduated from the University of Warwick in the UK with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, followed by a master’s degree in software engineering at King’s College London. He pursued a career in system development and digital transformation projects before his return to the family business in 2013. He then focused on the expansion to the European and North American markets and the transformation and upgrading of the Group. Under his lead, Vigor Precision adopted a complete upgrade in governance, R&D, digitalisation, and talent development to enhance skills for both technical and managerial roles. The company started establishing a CNAS-certified laboratory in 2023 to renew its R&D capability and was officially certified in October 2025.

Dr Neo Chan Kang-yuen Director, Vircon Ltd |
With over two decades of expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM), Dr Neo Chan founded Vircon Limited in 2012 to transform academic research into practical applications. He is a key driver for smart city development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, actively involved in shaping industry standards. In 2018, the HKSAR Government mandates BIM for all large-scale public projects, stands as a testament to his efforts in advancing the BIM. Dr Chan has led his team in delivering over 500 BIM projects, including the Hong Kong International Airport Third Runway System. His innovative BIM automation tools significantly enhanced industry efficiency, while his strategic acquisitions have introduced a mature testing business system from the Mainland to Hong Kong, promoting coordinated development of testing.

Jimmy Lau Kwan-ming Vice President, Finest Industrial Co., Ltd |
Jimmy Lau joined FINEST Industrial Co, Ltd in 2013 and now serves as Vice President, overseeing strategic operations, business development and ESG transformation. Facing the industry decline in optical media packaging, he pivoted the company into food and FMCG packaging, leveraging core mould technology to establish an integrated supply chain. Jimmy also championed innovative eco-friendly solutions, developing plastic-reducing packaging including high-percentage recycled formulations, and reusable packaging, etc, transforming the company from a traditional manufacturer into a global ESG exemplar which secures over 100 environmental patents, and obtains ISO 14001 and other international certifications.

Kevin Leung Kai-fung Director, Program Contractors Ltd |
Leung Kai Fung holds an MSc in Business Information Technology from the University of Manchester. He joined Program Contractors Limited in 2007 and established the Business Development Department for the company in 2009 to transform it from a local construction company into an international conglomerate. He successfully implemented digital transformation strategies and expanded overseas network, and created the brand “CityPlus” to shift from OEM to ODM. Overseeing major infrastructure projects in recent years, he pioneered the adoption of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) and Modular Integrated Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MiMEP), which significantly enhanced installation efficiency and safety standards.

Jason Man Yu-hin Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nameson Holdings Ltd |
Jason Man has served as CEO of Nameson Holdings Limited since 2021, providing innovative leadership to address manufacturing challenges. Through adopting advanced manufacturing technologies and streamlining operations, he enhanced the efficiency and quality of products. With strategic vision, Jason expanded production capacity in Central Vietnam, achieving record-high profits for the company and creating local job opportunities. Albert Poon Wai-yip Chairman, Shouji Tooling Factory Ltd |
Albert Poon holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in management from Imperial College London. He gained experience in the corporate finance division of a licensed institution and joined Perfectech International Holdings Ltd, founded by his father, in 2011, focusing on business development and resource allocation for Shouji Tooling Factory Limited. Shouji, founded in Hong Kong in 1994, is a specialist in injection moulds and plastic products. To strengthen its core business, Shouji formed an R&D team that develops proprietary inspection equipment using machine vision technology to enhance quality and efficiency. Shouji actively practices ESG concepts while pursuing business development to create sustainable value for employees, customers, and the community.

Pascal Tsang Tin-chu Sales Director, Dakota Industrial Company Ltd |
Pascal Tsang joined Dakota Group in 2006 and serves as Group Sales Director now, overseeing strategic planning and operations. He leads the Group to achieve consistent turnover growth and expanded production bases across Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam, with over 12,000 employees. He expanded upstream into fabric knitting and dyeing, championed digitalisation, automation, and real-time production data systems to improve efficiency and product quality. He led green energy initiatives at the Cambodia factory, installing solar power systems and promoting energy-efficient upgrades among suppliers. Over 80% of materials they used are now eco-friendly.

Ryan Tse holds degrees from Georgetown University, London Business School, and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, allowing him to integrate the wisdom of Chinese medicine and modern management practices. Since joining Vita Green in 2010, he has overseen strategic planning and successfully expanded operations across Greater China and Southeast Asia. He maintains stringent quality standards, promotes innovation, and implements smart automated production lines in response to Hong Kong's Re-industrialisation strategy. In 2020, he founded TEA CHÂTEAU, reinventing traditional tea therapy with modern technology and interpreting these two elements in a modern way.

Professor Siew Ng and Professor Francis Chan are clinician-scientists at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and internationally renowned experts in gastroenterology. In 2019, they co-founded Gniib GenieBiome Ltd, leveraging big data and clinical research to invent multiple patented gut microbiota formulas that have garnered international awards. In 2024, they established MicroSigX Ltd, which identifies microbial biomarkers for various diseases from faecal samples, pioneering non-invasive disease diagnostics to enable early detection and treatment. They developed the world’s first Enterosight for diagnosing inflammatory bowel disease, benefiting approximately 8 million people worldwide annually who experience gut symptoms but remain undiagnosed. Additionally, Metagenie is the world’s first AI-driven multikingdom microbiome technology that helps rule out autism and has received Breakthrough Device Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Prof Jack Wong is an Associate Professor at CUHK's School of Life Sciences and a Director of the Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship and Healthcare Management Programme (BEHM), with expertise in vascular and metabolic biology, stem cell biology, and cardiovascular regeneration, and owns 2 international patents. He actively promotes academic exchange and industry-standard setting. In 2023, he founded NutrigeneAI Biotech Limited to develop innovative treatments for vascular regeneration diseases using enhanced iPSC-derived endothelial cells. He strives to advance cardiovascular healthcare through scientific breakthroughs, translate technologies via entrepreneurship, and contribute to Hong Kong’s tech innovation across academia, industry, and education.

Dr Mark Mak Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Roborn DT Limited |
Dr Mark Mak, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Roborn, is an expert in the fields of 5G bionic robots, artificial intelligence applications, digital communication, human-machine hybrid intelligence and BeiDou Navigation Satellite System vertical business applications. In 2019, he led a team to collaborate with multiple telecommunications research institutions to successfully develop China’s first 5G motion-controlled humanoid robot, which served as a "goodwill ambassador" for the country during demonstrations in Belt and Road Initiative countries. He has been hailed as the "Father of 5G Bionic Robots" and the "Iron Man of Hong Kong”, and received the 2024 Hong Kong’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award. Dr Mak now serves as the Chief Consultant (Artificial Intelligence) at the State Key Laboratory of Space Information and Integrated Application, 5th Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (503 Institute).

Kingsley Leung has over 15 years’ experience in the life science and finance industries. He previously worked at leading international financial institutions and biotech companies, where he successfully led multiple acquisitions and fundraising projects, including a single fundraising exceeding USD 60 million, and executed 8 partnership and acquisition deals. In 2019, he founded Great Bay Bio, dedicated to driving bioprocess innovation through AI to address industry challenges such as long timelines and high costs. His outstanding leadership has been widely recognised, earning him the World Outstanding Young Leaders Award by Yazhou Zhoukan, Entrepreneur of the Year by CAPITAL, Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong, and Gen.T Social Impact and Leader of Tomorrow.
