FHKI Signed MoU with China Development Institute to Foster Industrial Development in the Greater Bay Area

Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and the China Development Institute (CDI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27 November. The agreement aims to advance exchanges and cooperation in industry, commerce, regional trade, and research, thereby fostering industrial development in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The MoU was signed by Clara Chan, FHKI Executive Deputy Chairman, and Dr Guo Wanda, CDI Executive Vice President, in the witness of Ricky Chan, FHKI Executive Deputy Chairman, and Dr Liu Guohong, CDI President. Under the MoU, both parties will jointly promote the exchange of industrial information, encourage the formation of partnerships, and foster cooperation in related fields to maximise synergies.

Ricky Chan, FHKI Executive Deputy Chairman, stated, “This MoU signing not only strengthens the close ties between Shenzhen and Hong Kong but also fosters a deeper integration between research institutions and the industrial sector, creating greater synergies. FHKI looks forward to collaborating with the CDI to jointly drive industrial innovation and development in the GBA, injecting new momentum into the region's sustained economic growth.”

Dr Liu Guohong, CDI President, stated that “CDI welcomes the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with FHKI. This partnership marks a new starting point for both parties. By fully leveraging FHKI’s strengths at the industrial and enterprise levels, together with CDI’s expertise in policy research and decision-making consultation, the two sides will deepen collaboration in industrial studies, policy exchange and practical engagement, contributing knowledge and momentum to the advancement of Shenzhen–Hong Kong synergy and the high-quality development of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

A seminar on the theme of “Industrial Synergy in the GBA during the 15th Five-Year Plan Period” was also held on the same day. During the seminar, both parties discussed how to optimise the regional economic layout, promote coordinated development, and better integrate Hong Kong and Macao into the nation's overall development. FHKI Deputy Chairman Jackie Ng also shared her insights during the discussion session. FHKI is committed to advancing new industrialisation, nurturing new quality productive forces, and actively assisting Mainland enterprises in connecting with international markets through its key strategic initiative, “FHKI Global Connect”.
