Federation of Hong Kong Industries ("FHKI") announces that Ms Chan Shum-yue, Bonnie will take up the position of Director-General with effect from today (1 December 2021).

FHKI Chairman Dr Sunny Chai said, "Ms Chan is a senior management personnel with profound experiences in business development and professional services. With her expertise and leadership skills, I am confident that Ms Chan will lead the FHKI secretariat to strive forward through enhancing our high-quality and professional services to corporate members and achieving the mission of FHKI to be the voice of industries."

Dr Chai also thanked the former Director-General Mr Gordon Lo for his dedication and contribution over the past two years and wished him a fulfilling retirement life.

Ms Chan is a qualified lawyer in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom with 30 years of extensive knowledge and wide-ranging experience in the fields of legal and finance. Prior to joining FHKI, Ms Chan served at the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) for over 25 years. During her time at HKEX, she held leadership positions in various departments, including China Development and Listing Promotion, Business Development and Issuer Services, Investor Services, Corporate and Investor Communications and Events Management etc. Over the years, she has built a strong network in the Government, commercial and media communities. Ms Chan also holds a number of other public offices, namely, the Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, the Board Member of Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital and the Executive Member of the Maryknoll Convent School Foundation.

Ms Chan holds the Bachelor of Laws degree, Postgraduate Certificate in Laws and Master of Laws (Corporate and Financial Law) degree from the University of Hong Kong.
