Established in October 2025, the FHKI Commodities Council aims to support the long-term development of Hong Kong’s commodities-related industries and foster a more robust local commodities ecosystem. The Council is dedicated to leveraging Hong Kong’s unique role in bridging the Mainland and global markets, helping to position the city as a highly competitive international hub for commodity trading, pricing, and risk management.
The Council brings together a diverse group of industry leaders, experts, and academics from across the manufacturing, logistics, finance, testing and certification, and professional services sectors. By regularly reviewing market trends and policy developments, the Council fosters industry consensus and formulates forward-looking policy recommendations. Through deepening cross-sector collaboration, the Council seeks to comprehensively elevate Hong Kong’s capabilities in high-value commodity services and supporting infrastructure. Ultimately, our vision is to strengthen regional supply chain resilience and actively advance the internationalisation of the Renminbi (RMB) by promoting offshore RMB pricing and settlement in commodity trading.
