On 7 April 2020, the US Trade Representative (USTR) announced the extension of certain third batch product exclusions from 25% tariffs imposed on Mainland products worth about US$34 billion under the Section 301 investigation.
Products include certain roller machines; ratchet winches; counterweight castings of iron or steel; tines, carriages, and other goods handling apparatus and parts; certain parts of metal shredders; steering wheels of stainless steel; pipe brackets of aluminium and instruments for measuring or checking voltage or electrical connections.
The extension will apply as of 18 April 2020 until 18 April 2021. The exclusions are available for any product that meets the description set out in the exclusion, regardless of whether the importer filed an exclusion request.
