    Mission and Objectives

The Design Council of Hong Kong (DCHK) was established by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in 1968. It is the oldest local non-profit organisation fostering the interest of the local design industry. The objectives of the Council include:

    1. To promote and expand the role of design in Hong Kong
    2. To encourage and facilitate industry to add value to their business through the use of design
    3. To enhance Hong Kong design standard and quality through collaboration with professional and educational institutions.

DCHK comprises council members and advisors, each with his/her area of expertise.  They include prominent businessmen from various industries, academia, and professional designers.  Click here for ex-committee member and advisor lists fo the council.  Meetings are held regularly to discuss issues that affect the design industry and to exchange information and ideas on design related topics.  The DCHK cooperates closely with other organisations in the design industry to undertake joint partnership programmes so as to enhance the design standard of Hong Kong.
