The 59th Annual General Meeting cum Luncheon was held at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, with The Hon Edward Yau Tang-wah as the Guest-of-Honour.  The Luncheon was well received by over 600 guests, including government officials and business leaders.

The outgoing Chairman Jimmy Kwok and newly elected Chairman Dr Daniel Yip delivered their remarks at the Luncheon.  Jimmy Kwok thanks the HKSAR Government, academia and research institutes etc. for their continuous support to FHKI in his two-year term. Looking ahead, Dr Daniel Yip said that he wishes to rejuvenate Hong Kong industries through three measures.  First, to explore “new business opportunities” through cross-sector business matching;  second, to connect and facilitate mutually beneficial collaboration between industrialists and start-ups for commercialising “new concepts”;  third, to actively enhance the industry image, support young industrialists and entrepreneurs as well as encourage the industries to help promote vocational education for attracting “new talents”.

The award presentation of Membership-drive Campaign 2018-19 was also held at the Luncheon and Jimmy Kwok presented the award to winners of the Campaign as a token of appreciation.  With the closing remarks from FHKI Deputy Chairman Dr Sunny Chai that expressed our gratitude to all sponsors, the Luncheon was concluded successfully.
