    Funded by the "Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales" (Organisation Support Programme) of the Government of the HKSAR, the International Industrial Automation Technology Forum was held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 14-15 March 2017. Prof Daniel M Cheng, Chairman of FHKI opened the Forum’s programme sharing the importance of automation technologies for manufacturing and encouraging the players in every industry to embrace Industry 4.0.

    In the opening, Robert Lai, Chairman of Hong Kong Automation Technology Council (HKATC) highlighted the Forum as an important learning and networking platform for industrial automation professionals and users. Dr David Chung, JP, Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology was the Guest-of-Honour of the Forum and shared the support from the Government in R&D and technology development.  

     Throughout the 2-day Forum, a plenary session and concurrent seminars focusing on eight industries: Mould & Die, Clock & Watch and Jewellery, Toys, Food and Beverages, Electronics, Metal, Plastics and Automobile were arranged to explore its applications, challenges and related technologies. Topics addressed by 25 renowned speakers included standard system for intelligent manufacturing in China, digital factory, big data, automation solutions and applications. Business leaders and key players in various industry sectors fruitfully got tips on automation implementation and accessed practical insights from industry’s leading companies.
