The Ministry of Commerce’s Response to Queries on the

Catalogue of Prohibited Commodities for Processing Trade

     Recently, Wang Qin Hua, Director-General of the Property Department of the Ministry of Commerce, replied to some questions from the media on the revised Catalogue of Prohibited Commodities for Processing Trade which was announced in the [Public Notice (2006) No. 82]. His reply covered the following questions:

 

1.           The reasons for issuing the revised Catalogue of Prohibited Commodities for Processing Trade;

2.           Commodities that are included in the revised catalogue;

3.           The grace period provided for concerned enterprises;

4.           The impact of the revised catalogue on enterprises operating in export processing zones;

5.           Commodities that fall under the prohibited category of processing trade in the Mainland;

6.           The impact of the revised catalogue on enterprises; and

7.           The policy relating to the administration of different classes of processing trade products.
