Q: What is the procedure after submitting the application form to FHKI? |
|
|
|
Upon receipt of the form, FHKI will forward the application to the designated assessor. The applicant is requested to fill out and return a project detail form sent by the designated assessor/ FHKI. When the selected project(s) competed, applicants committing 1-2 projects should send a self-declaration form to FHKI; while for those committing 3 or more projects, an on-site assessment will be arranged by the assessor to ensure if targets have been successfully achieved.

Q: What is the difference between “Objective” and “Target” of the environmental programme? |
|
|
|
Objective means the overall environmental goal, arising from an environmental policy, that an organization sets for itself to achieve, and which is quantified where practical.
Target means a detailed performance requirement, quantified where practical, applicable to the organization or parts or combination thereof, that arises from environmental objectives and that must be set and met in order to achieve those environmental objectives. |

Q: Is the assessment fee based on the number of project or factory? |
|
|
|
The assessment fee will be charged on factory / location basis.
|
|

Q: If a factory has been awarded for Green Medalist last year, does the factory need to register its project(s) this year again? |
|

The factory is recommended to renew its application with new target / project to compete for the annual environmental awards.

Q: What is "Environmental Performance Indicator"? |
|
|
|
Different parameters describe the potential impact of activities, products or services. These parameters are the result of characterizing classified environmental aspects.

Q: Will my factory be disqualified in 1-1-1 programme if it has received warning or conviction over the last 12 months? |
|
|
|
Registered factory is required to declare if it has been convicted or pleaded guilty to violations of environmental-related regulations/ordinance within the past 12 months.The judging panel reserves the right not to offer the award(s), if the applicant has been convicted and failed to declare.

Q: Our organization has three factories in three different locations, we have undergone different environmental project in each factory. Could this account for 3 projects under the name of the organization? Are we eligible to compete for Green Medalist? |
|

|
No. To receive a Green Medal, three or more environmental projects have to be committed at one factory location only, Upon successful completion of three or more environmental projects, the participating company will be recognized with a “Green Medal”; while the participating company has completed one to two environmental projects, a certificate of Green Participant will be awarded.

Q: We have been improving the performance of generators, such that the noise and air emissions will be improved. Is it categorized as air emission, noise abatement or cleaner production project? |
|

|
It can be considered to be categorized into either air emission, noise abatement or cleaner production, subjected to the most significant performance of the project.
|

|
|
Q: We have done a lot of environmental improvements in the past and now we keep running those green measures with the same target, can it be counted as one environmental project of the programme? |
|
|
|
No, unless there is a new target or an improvement to the environmental performance. For example, it could be counted as a project if you maintain the energy saving measures and the energy consumption in the coming year for 5% more reduction, compared with the previous year.

Q: Could my company submit one entry only including all of its subsidiary companies? |
|
|
|
No, the programme is on location basis and each factory has to submit its own application form and assessment fee if applicable.
