With the rapid development of the Mainland and our neighbouring countries, the Hong Kong transport services and logistics industry is now facing ever-increasing competition, and our relatively high operation cost puts us in a less-advantageous position.
Via initiatives like CEPA, QDII and QFII, Hong Kong can strengthen cooperation with PRD cities to facilitate exchange of goods and talents.
And I believe the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor will greatly enhance Hong Kong’s capability in handling cross-boundary transportation.
The Eleventh Five-Year Plan states that the Central Government supports the development of Hong Kong as an international shipping centre. We should therefore work closely with the Government and strive for quality, efficiency and diversified services to boost our competitiveness, thereby sustaining the development of the industry.
