As an open economy, Hong Kong’s import and export trade has been very active. The city’s total export value has recorded double-digit growth for four consecutive years, and total trade value is four times that of our GDP. This proves that trade services play a significant role in driving the economy.
The Mainland’s economy is growing rapidly as economic reforms accelerate. Ten years after the return of Hong Kong’s sovereignty to China, trade activities between the two places have increased tremendously. Hong Kong not only maintains but strengthens its role as a global centre of trade. With the Central Government’s support, I believe Hong Kong’s trade service industry will have a promising future.
Looking ahead, we hope the FHKI can continue to fight for the interests of our Group, helping members to boost competitiveness and create a better business environment.
